The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that includes Road Patrol, Water Patrol, Dive Team, Search & Rescue, Strategic Response Team, CSI, Investigations, Warrants, Courthouse Security, Civil Process, and Jail Division.

The Daviess County Sheriff's Office currently employs more than 70 people consisting of Administrative, Sheriff Deputies, Corrections, and Dispatch. We are committed to providing professional law enforcement and community service programs to our citizens.

About Us History The first residents of Daviess County, Indiana were Native Americans. At the time of European explorations and settlement, at least two Piankeshaw villages were located in in Daviess County. Missinguemeschium, known to European settlers as “Owl Town”, was located about a mile northwest of the town of Elnora.

Jail Command Mission The mission of the Daviess County Security Center is to provide secure incarceration for those that are detained in protective custody. The jail shall further strive to provide an atmosphere, which is safe where the rights of inmates are protected, as well as to promote the humane care of inmates.
